Shabby Chic at Round Top~
Hi again,
This is the booth that never disappoints! Wonderful use of space, no matter where you look! She has a flair for shabby chic and old world charm. The booth is by Sharon Taylor and she would love it if you had a chance to stop by. I love the entrance with old bed springs filled with real cotton! She is a wonder at lace, keys with door plates, home decor to make your home seem a little more like a french boutique feel. All of it is beautiful. My friend Lisa had to have a shabby chic hat, complete with lace!
This was a nice start to our very long day.......
Carmine, Round Top and Warrenton!
A day to remember....of fun and seeking~ here are a few of my goodies!!! We went early to see what might be open because technically they did not open til Friday, so this was dealers week. Starting at Carmine and found some fun things, then onto Round Top. There we went to a few vendors who had their doors open, one we saw last year and her shop was wonderful! More pics of her booth to come. Next was Warrenton and the trip there was good~ til next time.......Rho

Do you Distress?
I love to Distress, especially with Distressing stains. This card was an experiment that turned into my project. I only wanted to play with some new colors of embossing powders. These are from Judikins and are fabulous and looks so kewl! I love all the Rustique colors, they are so many colors in one embossing powder. Also, used TH new stains, this is antique linen and vintage photo. So easy to use to add color to any project! Okay, let me know what you think.....more posts to come.

Take a trip to Gruene TX
Now that the weather is getting cooler in the evening....well at least this week, it is time to take some day trips around the area! I enjoy a drive in the country, so I take the back way into Gruene, no traffic or noisy streets. Just peaceful scenery and a cute little town that really wants to stay small. Sometimes I just sit by the river and look out at all the beauty going by....nice idea. So don't let the weeks slip away, get into your car and go!

New babies.....hungry babies~
This happens every year at my house! And I wait to see how many will be born each time....they come back to the same place to lay their eggs every year! I wonder how they remember which house it is? But something happened to the old nest on the other side of my porch, which I tried not to let happen, but the brown birds confiscated the nest before the swallows got here! So mama and papa had to build a new on in a hurry, that is why this one is so small and not really finished....I thought the eggs would fall from the bottom. Obviously from the picture they are terrific builders.....but a bit messy with mud flung everywhere in their haste to bring the new ones into the world. They are so cute to watch in the morning when its feeding time....the biggest gets the most I noticed, but when its time to fly, the biggest might not be the first out of the nest!
Because I have watched this process for 3 years now, they tend to have two sets of babies! This is the first set born here in June, now I am watching 4 babies born last week. I had to knock down this nest because of the mess they made by my front door. They had the second of set babies in the old nest. I hope they had housekeeping come in after the brown birds......LOL.
Starting a new job soon~
Just an update, this last year I have subbed for the Middle/High school on base. I love it and hope to continue this year, but needed a steady income this year, after applying for a full time position twice and not getting it. So,I tried putting in again at the Library on base, where I have volunteered on and off since moving back here. Well, I can say that with the support of friends Iam finally working there!!! I start on Tuesday and am happy for the chance to show them I can do more than volunteer....LOL! Thank you to all my friends and family for your prayers and love.

Now you might think this is junque....well it is! My kind of junk is old nibs used for calligraphy writing~ But now I am using them to create new junk in my stamping! These are great for enhancing your stamped images on cards, collages and scrapbook pages. The vendor I got this from did not know what they were....to him it was his junk, until he sold it to me at a very discounted price, even threw in the tin it came in below!

Have you seen so much Cool Junque?
You just have to see this wonderful place to believe what is out there! I am still in awe of the things I saw.
I so wanted this one, a vintage paper chandelier! Such a elegant idea for your studio or craft room. Well, that is where I would put it! This booth was a paper dream fest!
Another booth with a lot of potential, so much little, cute, junk! I was on my last leg by this point, but seeing all this gave me my second wind! Tiny treasures to take home and make your own Junque Jewelery! Next time I am getting a few myself! More to post later.....enjoy!

All Handmade Projects...
This caught my eye first! What a wondeful way to spruce up an old lampshade.
She has such a awesome way to make a simple box a treasure!
Another booth I just loved! These were all paper crafts. So much fun to alter, and make works of art!

So many things to look at, which way do I go?
The flowers were so pretty, but such a dramatic flair for your yard, I really wanted one too~
Now a crate of glass door knobs is so cool, but a house to go with them would be even better~
They said you can find anything here, and after looking all day, I can now believe that!
Another thing I collect and wanted to take this one home, but I did find an old printers tray to haul home~

First Stop of the Day!
This was a wonderful booth to start our day off! Totally French venue was an eye candy dream, plus the owners were very nice to a newbie! They had some cool vases with paper flowers, ribbon shades that made you want to buy them all, and everything was displayed to the best effect! Very pretty and chic~
Don't forget to click on the pictures to enlarge them to get a better view at all the items on the table too!

Warrenton or bust!
Thanks to Lisa, I had a chance to see things I never would of believed existed! This was the Big Top, Mega, Huge Show! This is Warrenton and all the shows that take place there two times a year!!! It was Junque, Antiques, Fleamarket, and more all rolled into one fun, unbelievable and totally awesome day!!! I am still overwhelmed, can't remember what I saw, so taking pictures with the vendors permission is what I recommend. I so wish we could of spent the night, too much to see in one day. I will add pictures for the next couple of posts...so many to sort through too! Show ends April 3rd, try to go and see this amazing place if not they will be back in the fall. This was at the Blog Party hosted by Theresa. New friends to add to my bloglist!
See new friends!
Susie, Lezlee, Suzette, Charlotte, Sherri, Donna, and Pat! Fun group of Gals~ So good to meet them and get some shopping pointers! Thanks~
We made it...I think?
What? This town only has a population of 77? How can that be when everyone is here, right? Well this sleepy little town has been woken up and is ready to party! We could not count the cars going by or the people we met as we walked into all the shops! It was fabulous to start our day like this, we knew we had made it when we met a group of ladies that were already packed to the gills in three cars this is at 10 in the morning!!! (Later we met up with one at the blog party...small world!)
More Bluebonnets....too pretty!
It was too pretty not to stop and stroll through and see all the wonderful flowers! Lisa and I made the most of the wonderful weather and snapped tons of pictures here before we headed for Roundtop!
Bluebonnets anyone?
I was so happy to start my road trip to Roundtop! The first stop was at Buckeyes for breakfast and a sneak peak of all the wonderful wildflowers all along the Hyw 10! But when I turned off to La Grange, Lisa found the best cemeteries to stop and get some photos and see how old some of the stones were. I am a pro at cemeteries, letterboxing is a historical goldmine in cemeteries. So this was a fun stop and maybe a future site for me to come back to! But add bluebonnets to the mix and see what beauty you get. This is one of my favorite pictures on the trip. This was taken very early in the day, overcast and very cool. Super nice day!

Courtney's Birthday card
Look what I did in Picasa, this is so much fun and so easy to use! Take a trip there to use all the fun features and it is linked directly to Blogger. This was Courney's birthday card, I used the Happily Grateful stamp set from TAC. This is another way to use the same idea for a card. Thank you Courtney for being such a great photo op, you are a wonderful subject!

More beauty to behold....
Okay, needed to keep the flower power alive! I love these, and you can't tell, but they are huge! Wonderful colors, shape and textures to feast your eyes on! Things truly do grow bigger in Texas. Enjoy and think spring, I know I am rushing it...but with more "Snow" on the way, what can I say...

Can you see it?
Okay, after our "Snow storm" last week, I am ready to plant some flowers! I want it to stay cold, but tired of the dreary days that has to go with it. Maybe it's cabin fever or whatever, I just want to see some color again. Granted, we do not have the horrible REAL storms that everyone but us are having, but some winters here are spent in shorts! I love the snow, but since we don't get it here, lets get onto spring, colors and new beginnings!
These flowers were taken on a trip where I was learning how to use my camera functions! I am so glad to learn new things with it! Such details and close ups! Plus I had a good teacher too, you can see by the pictures that I was having a fun time! Well, correction, the bees were not cooperating, so close to them and very afraid too! So many bees and getting one to say cheese isn't their idea of fun! Plus, after 50 pictures, one or two are bound to turn out, right? LOL If you click on the pictures to make them bigger, you can see so much more detail, the bee's fur and wings are just stunning, wow what a creation! I am still amazed how close you can get!
Enjoy, I will bee back soon!
